Hello!

I went to see the training of my local team of different age groups. The coaches swore at the 14-16 years old guys very harshly. What do you think about it? Because in my opinion it is very inappropriate and uninspiring.

I coach a university team in a top collegiate tournament. Sets of rules, regulations and team policies are formulated beforehand with corresponding punishment and copies are distributed to players upon admittance to the team. It is just easy: follow or implement what is stated there. If the offence committed can be found the list, I inform them of their violation and punishment through formal letter. If an immediate disciplinary action is needed, I use my discretionary power wisely. I just always remember that in all disciplinary action I impose, it must always be for the good of the team and for tha good of the game as well.

Discipline should be drilled into players from the start. Ther's too much arguing with the refereeeven in the lowest age range junior leagues, often supported from the touchline by parents. This must stop. The juniors are copying their senior idols so the problem must be addressed at the top. if a strict discipline policy is enforced in the high level professional leagues, with high levels of fines and suspensions as backup, perhaps it would filter through.
